Provide strategic direction and daily oversight to
designing, developing, and implementing electronic information
delivery capabilities and services for R&D business
unit clients.
Assess, develop and implement new strategies, processes
and tools for information management, authoring text
and multimedia content, and multi-channel (print, network,
CD-ROM) publication and delivery. Monitor and evaluate
emerging technologies and vendor application software.
Develop information technology R&D and business
plans. Design and manage special studies and projects.

Developed and managed strategic organizational capabilities,
distributing EPRI's centralized computing infrastructure,
and optimizing effectiveness of (then) emerging desktop
technologies. Directed complete spectrum of end-user-
computing: hardware, software, configuration, LAN/WAN/data
telecommunication, systems integration, user support
services (labs, education, training, technical support,
vendor evaluation). Developed and managed electronic
network communications capabilities linking thousands
of sites world-wide.

a strategic, global network system linking staff, contractors,
customers, and key industry organizations, and offering
a broad range of highly integrated information services

This private network service was fully operational
in 1989, years before recent commercial acceptance

- Developed, tested and integrated the company's
standard desktop/portable computing units (E.g.
Executive Workstation), including personal productivity
applications, presentation applications, and mobile-base
data telecom strategies.
- Established the company's distributed computing
infrastructure: PC Lab, Walk-In Center, Education
Center, Demonstration Center, Hotline, including
mission, resources, promotions, and staffing.
Senior Planning Engineer, R&D Planning and
Evaluation
- Developed EPRI's Integrated R&D Assessment System
applying Decision Systems concepts in a mainframe/micro
environment.
- Develop EPRI Regional Systems database to support
regionalized analysis of the effects of EPRI's R&D
programs.
- Developed the first integrated menu-driven PC workstation
for company-wide application.
Long Island Lighting Company
Systems Planning Engineer
Designed, programmed, tested and put into production
an advanced power system planning and management system
integrating previously separate and overlapping analytical
tools and engineering data. This was years before commercial
database management system (DBMS) technology was available.
Developed advanced computer techniques for running hundreds
of sophisticated simulations for power system planning,
cutting engineering man-hours 10 to 1.
